Question: How do we tune vehicles?
Easy, let’s start from the first contact. If you are thinking about giving us a call, I will ask some probing questions to try and establish what you are trying to achieve from your vehicle.
For some, it may be as simple as talking you through the power and fuel economy gains of a stage 1 remap on your vehicle (No upgraded parts required). Or your request could be slightly more in depth depending on how far you would want to go. I work out what parts we may need to achieve your goal of 450hp (for example) and run you through why these parts will be required to be replaced with upgraded versions. Following that, we'll schedule you for our earliest available booking date and start working our magic.

Question: What happens next?
Once the vehicle is with us, we start by carrying out a 2 hour "State of Health" check. We carry out a diagnostic scan to check if or what faults are in the vehicle so we can establish a starting point. We check the air filters, fuel filters, spark plug and ignition coil condition. We carry out a smoke test on the vehicle to ensure there are no leaks in the system. We will then check in with you that the vehicle is run on 98 Octane gas or higher, before we carry out any further work. (Here we add a booster if needed and going forward the car will use 98 Octane gas or higher)

We will then take the vehicle out for a pre tune data log, to 100% make sure the vehicle is running how we want it. We check for any abnormalities in the live data coming out of the vehicle under load. If everything looks good, we then go ahead and read the factory file out of the Engine ECU and save it in our system.
If the vehicle requires any modifications to apply the requested tune, we will replace those parts after the pretune datalog.

Once all upgraded parts are fitted (if any), we connect the vehicle up to a battery charger and begin writing the new file to the ECU (this can take up to 25 mins if we can communicate through the OBD2 port). When completed and the new file is on the vehicle, we start with doing a diagnostic scan and inspecting for any fault codes.
Finally, the most important step, a post tune data log. This ensures the vehicle is running how we would like it and allows us to make any minor adjustments etc in the tune itself (if required).

Once we are happy, we will then get the vehicle into our wash bay for a complementary clean and get all the paperwork prepared for you. You will receive a copy of the invoice for all the work done, as well as a copy of the final datalog of the vehicle after the tune.
